Dou Haobei and Dou Dou, his 4-year old daughter, became online sensation for their 71-day bike trip. They became media stars upon their arrival back to Dongguan.
Kindergartens in China were closed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Dou Dou was thrilled when she was told that her father is taking her to Tibet. So they started off their journey from Guangdong’s province, Dongguan early April and arrived in Lhasa mid-June.

The journey was not an easy one. China Daily reported that the family duo experienced and overcame many difficulties along the way. The father added that his daughter has gone through fatigue, downpours, illnesses, high altitude sickness and injuries. One thing for sure, this journey taught her the meaning of persistence as she kept a smile on her face till the very end.
"I believe this is a promise to my daughter. She will have faith in persistence and a strong mindset. Human beings can achieve goals as long as they are determined," said Dou via China Plus.

The pair travelled almost 60 kilometres a day. Beautiful sceneries were experienced along the way – from snowy mountains to rivers and lakes. Posting their bike journey on Douyin, residents who gave them food and necessary help along the way.
