Malaysia: Compound Is Issued To Neelofa And Family

Neelofa, PU Riz and twenty of their family members are issued a fine of RM60,000 for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the movement control order (MCO) during their wedding and crossing the borders during the CMCO.

According to the statement by the Dang Wangi district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor or rather known as Neelofa, will need to pay RM20,000 for the two offences.

The first offence was failing to comply with the SOP in her wedding with Haris Ismail or PU Riz. The first offence will be a compound of RM10,000 non-negotiable.

The second offence was failing to obtain permission to cross the district.

PU Riz will also be issued the same compound of RM10,000 for failing to obtain permission to cross the district.

According to Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal, 20 of their family members will be issued an RM1,500 fine amounting to RM30,000 for breaching the SOP.

The wedding took place last March this year. The investigation and the decision of the compound took exactly one month from the event date.
