Malaysia: All Sinovac Covid-19 Vaccine Recipient Must Go For Booster Shot

All primary Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine recipients above 18 and those above age 60 (regardless of the primary vaccine) must obtain their booster shot.

Those who choose to not go for their booster shots by February 2022 will have their MySejahtera status showing as "incomplete vaccination".

You could be rejected from entering restaurants or shopping malls with "incomplete vaccination" status.

According to the research in Hong Kong, the two doses of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine is not sufficient to protect from the Omicron variant, said Khairy Jamaluddin, Malaysia's Health Minister.

Apart from that, the immunity from those infected with Covid-19 also may not be sufficient from the Omicron variant, he added.

"The booster shot will lower the hospitality and the severity of the Covid-19 while boosting the immunity against Covid-19, especially the Omicron variant."
