The Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Digital Village will be a launch pad for young entrepreneurs and start-ups, says Datuk Len Talif Salleh, chairman of TEGAS.
During the launch, TEGAS Digital Village (TDV) inked Memorandum Of Understandings (MOU) and Memorandum of Agreements (MOA) with various ecosystem partners.
"With partnering with TEGAS, I Cube Innovation Sdn Bhd (iCube) hope to raise the standards and empower entrepreneurs in Sarawak, propelling Sarawak to be the hottest hub for entrepreneurs in the region," said Dato Patrick Liew, Chairman and Founder of iCube.
The TDV is set to be a platform for start-up growth and promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy.
Initiatives at TDV will include growth acceleration and scale-up programmes, R&D commercialisation, market access and funding facilitation, corporate innovation and ecosystem enhancement and many more, he said at the launch on Monday.
TEGAS has played a role in raising awareness among the public and assisting the people, especially the youth, to digitalise their businesses or transform their ideas into products.
Sarawak government remains committed to establishing an ecosystem that enables the people to use technology in various economic activities, said YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, Chief Minister of Sarawak, when he officially launched the TDV on Monday, November 22.
"I hope this building will symbolise modern technology and an era of transformation in all sectors of Sarawak's economy," said Abang Jo.
