Malaysia: Those Vaccinated In IDCC Shah Alam Needs To Self-Isolate

Updated on July 13, 1.30 pm with the corrected date.

Those vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine in Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) between last Friday, June 29, and July 12 are advised to observe a 10-day self-quarantine.

204 staffers at IDCC have tested positive for the Covid-19 virus during a mass screening after two staffers were confirmed positive earlier, said Khairy Jamaluddin, the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation program (PICK).

IDCC PPV has 453 staffers, including volunteers, making it 45% of the staffers are positive.

The RT-PCR test results showed that the 204 staffers low viral load.

“We found that the exposure could have happened on July 9. As a precaution, the CITF advises those who presented themselves for vaccination at the IDCC on July 9 from 4 pm onwards to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms for 10 days."

Khairy ordered an immediate closure of the IDCC PPV immediately for a day to ensure cleaning and sanitisation work could be done by Fire and Rescue Department.

The scheduled vaccine recipients will receive a new date for vaccination.
