National diver and fellow Sarawakian Pandelela Rinong dived her way to the gold medal in the women's 10m platform at the FINA Diving World Cup 2021 yesterday.
Pandelela scored 355.70 points and won the gold at the Tokyo Aquatic Centre, Japan.

According to FINA, the official website of the competition, "the victory rewarded not so much the excellence but rather the consistency. And the strongest in this field was Malaysia's Pandelela Rinong."
Pandelela Rinong, a 28-year-old Sarawak, is also a two-time Olympic medallist.
She is the first Malaysian to make it to the top of the World Cup podium.

Matsuri Arai, Japan, won silver with 342.00 points while Caeli Mckay, Canada, won bronze with 338.55 points.
