Chengdu’s Qiyi City Forest Garden was supposed to be the next architectural revolution. The eight tower apartments have a specialised built balcony in each of its units to grow plants. It seems like a suitable apartment for anyone interested to own a backyard in the skyrise.

Construction started in 2018, and since last April, all of the apartment’s 826 units were sold. But somehow the apartments were left abandoned for quite long, which cause the original plants planted on the balcony has grown wildly. Most of the tower's surface is covered in plants, and the wild plant has attracted all kinds of insects, especially mosquitoes!

From the Daily Mail, some commented that the tower might hold stagnant water in the plant's watering system. As we all know, stagnant water is the place for mosquitoes to breed. If you suspect your home is harbouring these pests, do some weekly cleaning around your house property. Check on your pot saucer or any area that could hold stagnant water. Grow some mosquito-repelling plants around your house, like the lemongrass.

As for the mosquito's apartments, only a handful of thick skin armour tenants have moved in. Hope the people around that area clean the apartments, it is a beautiful structure, and also the mosquitoes might bring unnecessary health problems. STAY SAFE AND FIGHT DENGUE!!!
